Dai Dai (citrus aurantium) is an Asian variety of bitter orange very close to Orange Bergamot.
You will love this sour refreshing juice made from daidai! fruit!
The name daidai (meaning several generations) originates from the fruit staying on the tree for several years if not picked. The ripe orange colour of the fruit returns to green in the spring. The Japanese use this fruit as decoration in the New Year.
This is perfect for sweet and savoury applications. Perfect with alcohol too, as a marinade, mixed with soy sauce (some say its the true version of Ponzu) and in pastry.
The Daidai has a lot of Vitamin B1, B2 and C and is very effective for stomach diseases, colds and sore throats!!
