    Dashi is a class of soup and cooking stock used in Japanese cuisines. Dashi forms the base for miso soup, clear broth, risottos, sauces, noodle broth, and more. These sachets are *michelin star* quality you will not be disappointed!


    Dashi can take hours and be very expensive to make. Finally we have very good quality stock sachets available which means you can also have more variety on your menus as you don’t have to make litres of different stocks to have on hand.


    All stock sachets are made by a unique method that combines instant cooking at high temperature AND pressure. These stock sachets are of the highest quality and enable you to have more variety on your menu.  Kombu seaweed and Shiitake mushrooms are used in the stocks giving the Umami flavour. All stock packets have 30 x 8g sachets. Product of Japan.


    Preparation of a classic dashi stock: Drop a sachet into 600cc of cold water and bring to the boil. Keep boiling to infuse for 3 minutes then remove from the heat. This stock is perfect for miso soup.

    Preparation of strong dashi stock: Drop a sahet into 250cc of cold water and bring to the boil. Keep boiling to infuse for 3minutes then remove from the heat. This stock is perfect for the base of noodle soup.

    Preparation of cold dashi stock: Drop a sachet into 300cc of cold water and infuse for 15minutes. This stock is useful for steamed egg or omelette.

    *Don't throw the used sachet away. Break the sachet open to enjoy its contents with stir-fried rice, stir-fried noodles, or ochazuke.
